We have talked about other green alchoholic beverages before, but this is an organic vodka that will satisfy your thirst for a dirty martini, cosmopolitan, or your favorite cocktail without adding any toxic chemicals to your body.
Prairie Organic Vodka has a slight melon and pear taste and is certified organic by the USDA. The farmers that grow the corn for the distillery also own it. In order to grow organic corn, the farmers are not allow to have any of the following:
- genetically modified seeds
- artificial fertilizers
- hormones
- weed controllers
- pesticides
Unless the vodka is certified organic, it might have some of these things, but since Prairie Organic Vodka is certified organic, you know the corn that is used to distill the vodka is of the highest quality.
The Prairie Organic Vodka distillery also uses leftover corncobs and other biomass to convert into biogass energy to help power the stills. The distillery grains, a corproduct of the distillation, are reused as feed at the farm.
If you want to try the Prairie Organic Vodka, the website has a list of cocktail recipes. Personally I can not wait to try the Tall Grass Tea recipe that has green tea in it, yum!
