Many advertising mediums are not sustainable, and we have talked about more sustainable advertising before, but now there is a new kind of greener advertising that also decorates the inside of parking garages.
Carspaze is an advertising agency that has a new type of advertising that takes place in parking garages of shopping centers. Basically they created a screen that goes on a parking garage wall that shows photo quality images that decorate the garage and bring more customers to the retail stores. Want to know something else great about it? The screens are made from recycled materials and have low energy lighting. Cool!
Carspaze has been around in Europe for a while, but they are now in the United States, and their first campaign is for JetBlue and it takes place in the Tysons Corner Center Shopping Mall just outside of DC. “We are minimizing our impact on the environment while providing a creative new way for advertisers to engage with consumers. We have transformed a grey concrete box into a large canvas for brands with incredibly high recall.” said Carspaze’s Jim Anstey.
There are a few things I like about Carspaze’s advertising. One is that it takes place in a building that is already there and it is not cluttering land like billboards. A second thing I like is that it uses low energy lighting and it is made of recycled materials. The third thing I like is that this seems like an effective form of advertising and it does not require wasteful materials. I hope other advertising companies look into greener ways of advertising.
