Over 2 million tons of kitty litter end up in landfills every year. Recently there has been a growth in biodegradable litter but it is usually more expensive and is still additional waste in landfills. Wouldn’t it be great if we could cut out kitty litter all together?
How about potty training your kitty? Sounds bogus right? Its not. One of my college roommates hated the smell and the waste of a litter box so she decided to try potty training her kitty using the CitiKitty Cat Toilet Training Kit. And it worked. Now she is training the newest addition to her family – Tsunami, another kitty.
Check out this video she made of her kitty, Sake, using the toilet:
CitiKitty was founded by Rebecca Rescate in 2005 after she realized that she did not have any room for a litter box in her tiny New York City apartment. She had heard about people toilet training their cats but could not find a kit to make it easy. So, she decided to make her own. Now her CitiKitty Cat Toilet Training Kit is available worldwide and people can easily toilet train their cats! Just so you know, this is not an overnight thing. The process takes a couple of weeks because the cat has to get used to the toilet, but with patience you can kiss the expense and waste of kitty litter goodbye!

Hi Training my 3 cats to use a toilet is a good idea but, my cats are getting on a bit! How about some ideas for composting it ? If we can use human waste for plants, why not apply this to cat litter ? Thanks Karen,Spotty,Barney and Fluffy xxxx
